tglo (pronounced "tee-glow") was launched in 2003 by theglobe.com under the name VoiceGlo. The name of the service changed to tglo in October 2005. theglobe.com (OTCBB:TGLO) is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The company started by offering a browser based service called GloPhone as well as a service using an adapter to connect a telephone to. At the end of 2004 it withdrew the adapter based service, but continues with the browser based software under the name tglo CentComm.

In October 2005, the company announced that there it had achieved a user base of 5 million people for its VoIP service.
